The Director, Human Resources is a hands-on, creative and energetic leader of a four-person Human Resources department for the American Psychiatric Associations (APA) approximately 200-person staff. S/he is responsible for the entire Human Resource function including developing and fostering a culture that supports the APAs mission, vision, and values; developing and implementing strategies and programs to recruit, train, evaluate and retain the best talent; and to ensure compliance with all federal, state and local HR laws and policies, with a focus on DC employment law. S/he is the go-to person for counseling on and resolution of employee relations issues and for analysis of trends. As a Project Manager on the American Psychiatric Association (APA)s Online Learning team, you will work closely with a cross-functional team to guide the development of educational products and services from conception to launch. This includes supporting the virtual (hybrid or livestreamed) component of APAs annual meeting, various one-day online events, and new eLearning offerings, among others. A critical component of this position will be the ability to break down tasks into manageable steps that will enable APA Online Learning to innovate and grow.
