Bebe Moore Campbell & APA Moore Equity in Mental Health Initiative
Bebe Moore Campbell was a mental health equity champion and a New York Times bestselling author who tirelessly worked to bring public awareness to minority mental health. Her work was inspired from her personal experiences with a family member. APA strives to continue her visionary work through this annual event to benefit a newly established award, named after Campbell.
The Moore Equity in Mental Health Community Grants Program was established in 2021 by APA's Division of Diversity and Health Equity in partnership with the APA Foundation. The initiative supports individuals and community organizations that have undertaken innovative awareness programs and/or have provided services to improve the mental health of young people of color.
