Media Advisory: Media Encouraged to Attend APA Annual Meeting in Philadelphia
WHAT:
The American Psychiatric Association’s 2020 Annual Meeting features nationally recognized experts in psychiatry and mental health policy, research and clinical practice. The meeting’s theme is Advancing Quality: Challenges and Opportunities and will feature more than 500 sessions and specialized tracks, including addiction psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, forensic psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, and more. There will also be a research track from the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism. The results of a new national public opinion poll on mental health will be released during the meeting. The Mental Health Innovation Zone, highlighting advances in mental health technology, returns this year.

Credentialed media can register through online advanced registration for journalists. The Onsite Meeting Press Room at the Pennsylvania Convention Center will be open Saturday through Tuesday, April 25 - 28, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Wednesday, April 29, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Daily press briefings will be held in the Press Room Saturday through Tuesday at 9 a.m.
