Committee on Advocacy and Litigation Funding

The Committee on Advocacy and Litigation Funding has the responsibility of reviewing requests, usually from District Branches and State Associations, for financial support of projects involving legislation, litigation, and advocacy; of making recommendations regarding funding to the Board of Trustees; and of proposing coordinated activity by other APA components, District Branches, and State Associations.

Term

Three years; volunteer leaders will be eligible for reappointment for an additional three year term at the conclusion of their first term.

Expected Time Commitment

The Committee reviews CALF grant requests on a rolling basis via email. Committee members are expected to respond to all requests within 48 hours. The Committee will occasionally meet via Zoom, when multiple CALF requests are made in the same time period, to expedite review and votes.

Desired Expertise

Volunteers should ideally possess expertise in scope of practice advocacy, and have an understanding of District Branch state advocacy efforts.
