The Scientific Program Committee of the Mental Health Services Conference (Formerly IPS), a subcomponent of the Council on Medical Education and Lifelong Learning, has the responsibility for the selection of the topics and sessions to be included in the program. In most instances, the President-Elect selects a Chairperson and Co-Chairperson to preside at most sessions of the Committee.
Term
Three years; volunteer leaders will be eligible for reappointment for an additional three year term at the conclusion of their first term.
Expected Time Commitment
The full Committee meets bi-weekly. Smaller groups may meet weekly or bi-weekly to develop the invited sessions.
Responsibilities
All members should strive to attend and actively contribute to the scheduled SPC meetings. Minutes will be taken and available within 24-hours of the meeting. Individuals will be asked to chair/co-chair one of the 10 invited sessions. Chair/Co-chair(s) will be responsible with curating session descriptions, speakers and applying adult interactive learning methodologies. Each member will also assist with marketing the meeting through their networks.
