More Americans Say Climate Change Is Having an Impact on Mental Health Now Than in 2022, APA Survey Finds
With a prediction for an above normal hurricane season this year, wildfires causing evacuations, and tornadoes and extreme storms regularly emerging, just more than half of adults (53%) are now reporting that climate change is impacting Americans’ mental health. This is up from 48% in 2022, as reported in the American Psychiatric Association’s Healthy Minds Monthly Poll.

APA/APAF Announce 2024 Awardees of MOORE Equity in Mental Health Community Grants Program
Today the American Psychiatric Association (APA) and the APA Foundation announced 10 new grantees in the Moore Equity in Mental Health Community Grants Program, for a total of $100,000 disbursed. Established in 2021, the grants support community organizations that have undertaken innovative awareness programs and/or have provided services to improve the mental health of young people of color.

New Polling Data Shows Most Employers Offer Some Form of Mental Health Benefits, But Burnout Impacts Over 40% of Employees
A survey fielded last month by the American Psychiatric Association (APA) found that most working adults know how to access mental health care services through work (67%). Despite this, two-in-five employed adults worry about retaliation or being fired if they take time off for their mental health (44%) or seek mental health care (39%).
