This webinar will explore the challenges facing Psychiatry in the context of the legislative and public policy changes in the U.S. and Canada involving Medical Aid in Dying (MAiD) in recent years. The speakers will discuss their personal experience with MAiD within their professional work and share their juxtaposing positions. Following the panel discussion, audience members will be encouraged to share their suggestions or questions related to MAiD for response by the panel and participants’ consideration. Topics in the webinar will include ethics, law, the controversial nature of MAiD and the historical perspective of MAiD, so that participants may gain a comprehensive background and provide input on this topic.
