Candidate for 2025 Area 3 Trustee
Biography
Mandar Jadhav is a board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist who lives in Maryland and works as the Deputy Director of Federal Affairs for the National Association of Community Health Centers in Washington, D.C. He regularly attends Washington Psychiatric Society events and was part of the Scientific Program Committee for the 2024 APA Mental Health Services Conference in Baltimore.
Mandar completed residency training in Pennsylvania and child and adolescent fellowship training in Maryland. He was an active member of the APA district branches in both states. Mandar served on the Executive Council of the Pennsylvania Psychiatric Society and the Board of Trustees for the Pennsylvania Medical Society’s Political Action Committee. He was also a member of the Legislative Committee of the Maryland Psychiatric Society and the Board of Directors of the Maryland Foundation for Psychiatry.
Mandar went to high school and college in New Jersey and maintains a connection to his alma mater. His parents still live in the Garden State. His sister, who is also a child and adolescent and consult-liaison psychiatrist, lives and works in Maryland.
In addition to his clinical training, Mandar has significant experience in advancing federal legislation that expands access to care in underserved areas and increases workforce opportunities for those from underrepresented backgrounds. He has spoken and presented at several mental health and health policy-related conferences and has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals. Mandar is passionate about teaching and mentoring the next generation of psychiatrists and health system change-makers. He has also volunteered consistently to reduce the stigma associated with mental illness and addiction and to promote awareness of treatment and recovery options.
As an active member of APA for over a decade, having previously served on the Council on Children, Adolescents and their Families, Mandar is looking forward to earning the opportunity to represent the priorities of Area 3 APA members like himself. Please email him at [email protected] or send him a message on LinkedIn if you have any feedback, questions or concerns.
