The APA SAMHSA MFP emphasizes the importance of mentorship to increase diversity in our field. Therefore, all our pathway programs feature mentorship components which aim to assist participants with academic and professional goal setting and networking. We pull from our other programs to provide our participants both with mentorship and with mentoring experience.
Resident Fellowship Program (RFP)
Our residents can apply to mentor our Summer Medical Student Program participants. Please see the Advocate/Protégé program website for more details on their mentorship opportunities.
Summer Medical Student Program (SMSP)
Our medical students can apply to mentor our Future Leaders in Psychiatry Program and Rising Scholars in Psychiatry participants. We pool from our Resident Fellowship Program to provide mentorship for them.
