The use of telepsychiatry in team-based care has demonstrated efficacy in a variety of settings:

• Telepsychiatry enables psychiatrists to have the opportunity to participate in team-based care by integrating telepsychiatry into many existing models of team-based care, as well as the creation of new ones.
• Live video conferencing for telepsychiatry integration into team based-models can be successful across many practice settings, including: within a health care facility (including the ER); to provide psychiatric supervision for residents; or even to provide remote monitoring of ongoing care for partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient programs, and nursing homes.
• Within a school-based support setting, including a team of teachers, counselors, and psychologists who provide remote monitoring, and who also are able to observe the child in the school setting and report back to the psychiatrist.
